Visitor Parking

All vehicles occupying university parking facilities, other than in metered spaces and visitor pay lots, must properly display a valid and appropriate parking permit during the posted hours. Visitors or guests to the University may have extended parking privileges by prior arrangement with the department or area involved, or by the Office of Parking and Transportation in the lot(s) and at the times specified on the permit. Permits from the Office of Parking and Transportation are available from 7:30am - 4:30pm, Monday through Friday, and at other times from the University Police, 105 Nelson Smith Building. Prices of visitors permits are $8.00 per day, or $25.00 per week. If parked in a meter on campus, the meter must be paid. Meters are enforced 24 hours a day 7 days a weeks. Parking in the Bone Pay Lot and South University Street Garage pay lot is $1.00 an hour. There is no overnight parking in the Bone Student Center pay lot and South University Street Garage pay lot. Violators risk being ticketed and towed.

Temporary Permits

Visitors who have business with the University may use meters, park in the Bone Student Center pay lot or on the first level of the South University Street garage for an hourly fee. Visitors needing extended parking privileges must contact Parking & Transportation to obtain a permit.

One-day temporary permits are available for faculty, staff and University departments requesting parking arrangements for their guests at a cost of $8.00 each. Each permit is valid for one day only. The permit is valid in surface faculty/staff and commuter lots. The permit is valid in RED reserved spaces after 5:00 pm only. The permit is not valid in WHITE reserved spaces. The permit is not valid in meters or visitor pay lots. There is no overnight parking allowed with this permit.

Overnight temporary permits are available for guests of residence hall students at a cost of $8.00 each.

Weekly permits are available at a cost of $25.00 per week.

Evening and Weekend Parking

RED faculty/staff and GREEN commuter lots (does not include reserved spaces or zones, pay lots, meters, disabled spaces, business and service vehicle spaces. blue storage lots, or loading zones) have open parking from 7:00pm to 4:00am, Monday through Friday and on weekends from 7:00pm Friday to 4:00am Monday except during special events. Again, this open parking allowance does not include hourly parking in the Bone Student Center pay lot or in the first level of the South University Street garage, metered parking, reserved spaces or zones, blue storage lots, disabled spaces, loading zones, business and service spaces.

Unless specifically provided for, no parking is permitted in any parking lot between the hours of 4:00am and 6:00am, with the exception of BLUE storage lots.

Meters

All meters are enforced seven (7) days a week, 24 hours a day. In the event of improperly working meters or disabled vehicles, Parking & Transportation or the University Police Department must be notified immediately. Parking & Transportation (309) 438-8391 is open from 7:30am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday, and the University Police Department (309) 438-8631 is in operation seven (7) days a week, 24 hours a day.
