University High School and Stroud Auditorium are located here.
University High School opened in 1965. The high school contains movable walls, carpeted floors, television reception and transmission in most classrooms, labs for research and teaching, a gymnasium and a playfield. On the walls of the building, 10 plaques, which are replicas of the famous frieze of the Parthenon, are hanging. Stroud Auditorium was built in 1966 and was named after Miss Ruth Stroud. Stroud was an English teacher who taught at University High School for 35 years.
University High School is located at the corner of N. Main St. and Gregory St., one block away from Hancock Stadium.
