The University Farm has been at the Gregory location since 1962. Prior to 1962, the farm was located where University High School now sits. The Aquaculture Building has been on the University Farm since 1989. It will remain in this location. The University Farm at Lexington was dedicated in June of 2002.
Located just off Interstate 55, the 360-acres are actually a combination of two farms - the former FS research facility plus adjacent farmland that Illinois State acquired later.
University Farm business operations have moved to the University Farm at Lexington.Take Interstate 55 to the Lexington exit (exit 178). Proceed towards the town of Lexington (traveling east). At the stop sign, turn left. You will then be traveling north on County Highway 23. Travel over the interstate and take the next right. Follow this road to the new farm. (approximately 1/4 mile) The Lexington farm site is approximately 15 minutes from Normal.
